Ben Curran included in Zimbabwe squad for Afghanistan series.

The 28-year-old is the son of Kevin Curran, who played 11 ODIs for Zimbabwe between 1983 and 1987, and later served as their head coach from 2005 to 2007.

Curran, who represented Northamptonshire from 2018 to 2022, earns his first call-up after a standout domestic season.

He is the top run-scorer in Zimbabwe’s 50-over competition, with an average of 64.50 this season.

The left-handed batsman also leads the rankings in Zimbabwe’s red-ball competition, averaging 74.14, while the T20 season is yet to begin.

The three-match ODI series will commence on 17 December, with the preceding T20 matches scheduled between 11 and 14 December.

A two-Test series will begin on 26 December, with the squad still to be named.

Zimbabwe will also face England in a one-off Test at Trent Bridge on 22 May 2025.

Curran’s brothers, Sam and Tom, have both played for England in all formats, with Sam currently in England’s white-ball plans, and Tom last appearing in 2021.
